‘Mobuoy dump notmy responsibility’
DUP MLA Gregory Campbell asked her what steps she had taken to protect the Faughan following the “potential environmental issues that arose from the discovery of large amounts of illegally dumped waste at Mobuoy Road, Campsie, Londonderry in 2013.”
She replied: “My Department has no direct responsibility for the River Faughan, as it is located in the Loughs Agency jurisdiction.”
“The Environment Agency (NIEA) is responsible for regulating landfill sites and investigating all cases of illegally dumped waste and the potential environmental damage from such sites,” she added.
